WELCOME EVERYONE TO THIS NEW ACADEMIC YEAR

Hello, I´m here again to continue with the blog that I started last academic year. I ´m at a new High School, IES Aldonza Lorenzo, in Puebla de Almoradiel (TOLEDO). I hope my new students like to improve their English through the variety of activities, links and useful stuff that they are going to find in it this year.

HELLO, I´M ALIVE

Hello everyone, after a long period without writing on the blog, I´m here again. I´ve been very busy with my classes and other personal matters. The academic year is nearly ending, summer is just around the corner and it´s time to think about to take a rest and enjoy your free time. On these days I´m going to give you some ideas of what you can do to practise your English in a relaxed way, not thinking about exams or school work. ST PATRICK´S DAY-


On March 17th Irish celebrate St Patrick´s Day, this day is also celebrated in America with a green parade as Irish people started to commemorate this traditional day when they emigrated to America in the 19th century because of the great famine. USEFUL ENGLISH

Hello everyone, I´m here again and I´d like to present you a new section for the blog called USEFUL ENGLISH. The aim of this section is to learn some vocabulary and phrases that are common in the oral language, in other words, colloquial English. Every week I´ll include some new words and phrases with examples to learn them easily and above all in order to put them into practise as much as possible. See you!

ST DAVID´S DAY




On 1st March, Welsh celebrate St David´s day, the patron saint of Wales, which is one the countries that make up UK together with England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This day is not an official holiday as St. Patrick´s and St. Andrew´s day, it is an ordinary day. On the right you can see St. David´s flag which is not so well-known as the flag on the left which is Wales´s national flag. SAINT VALENTINE´S DAY


Saint Valentine´s day is next Sunday, on 14th February. It is a day celebrated all around the world, it´s a day to express your love, friendship and good will to everybody. You can send valentine´s cards, give flowers or offer confectionery. This celebration comes from a Roman called Valentine. GROUNDHOG DAY (Día de la marmota)




On February 2nd, it is celebrated the Groundhog Day, an annual holiday in America and Canada. It is said that the groundhog comes out of its hole at the end of the winter.
