ST PATRICK´S DAY-


On March 17th Irish celebrate St Patrick´s Day, this day is also celebrated in America with a green parade as Irish people started to commemorate this traditional day when they emigrated to America in the 19th century because of the great famine. USEFUL ENGLISH

Hello everyone, I´m here again and I´d like to present you a new section for the blog called USEFUL ENGLISH. The aim of this section is to learn some vocabulary and phrases that are common in the oral language, in other words, colloquial English. Every week I´ll include some new words and phrases with examples to learn them easily and above all in order to put them into practise as much as possible. See you!

YUMMY (adj) : tasty, delicious.
That cake is yummy. (Ese pastel está riquísimo)
I´m going to eat my grandma´s omelette. Yummy! (Voy a comer la tortilla de mi abuela. ¡Qué rico!

CHEERS (n): a word that people say to each other as they lift up their glasses to drink.
He raised his glass and said Cheers! (Levantó su copa y dijo. ¡Salud!)

ST DAVID´S DAY




On 1st March, Welsh celebrate St David´s day, the patron saint of Wales, which is one the countries that make up UK together with England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This day is not an official holiday as St. Patrick´s and St. Andrew´s day, it is an ordinary day. On the right you can see St. David´s flag which is not so well-known as the flag on the left which is Wales´s national flag.
